For the sake of internet safety, I'm going to do my best to avoid the specifics that make me easy to find. I do have kids I need to keep safe, after all. However, here's the basics:
- I'm a single mom. Physically for a year now. Emotionally for over a year.
- I have two little boys. For the sake of this blog, they're affectionately referred to as "big brother" and "baby brother". Which are their current real-life nicknames anyway.
- Big Brother is 2.5 years old while Baby Brother will soon turn 1.
- I'm not quite 30. Old enough to have lived a little but young enough to... I don't really know. I believe age is relative. I think you're "old" when you decide you're old or you think you've learned all there is to learn. I think you're "young" when you decide you're young or still see life as an amazing learning adventure. (This is not looking at age from a physical point of view which, although tied to this perspective, obviously our bodies go through certain phases of development including "old age".)
- I teach science at a middle school. Parenting is educating children. Teaching is educating children. I love kids and I love to see them learn.
- I am a parenting expert. Yeah, right. Definitely not. :) However, I do believe I have a positive view of parenting what it means to put parenting as my number 1 priority.
